I was a Director at Christie’s, before setting up as an independent art dealer four years ago producing handmade, hand-drawn and hand-finished ceramics. When exhibiting at art fairs, I would use my handmade ceramics for sweets for visitors – they drew so much interest, that I was inspired to set up a ceramics business. That was just over three years ago. Since then, it has been absolutely consuming, exciting, challenging, and rewarding – all in equally generous portions.
I am very excited about my new range of ceramics, that will be available this summer. It’s called ‘The Isolation Collection’, and was produced during the first lockdown, which I spent in the wild hills of Ceredigion, Wales. The surroundings were breathtaking, and inspired me to produce some of my best work yet.
I’m a fine art specialist, so my style is very visual. I also love handling objects, and enjoy producing undulating, slightly irregular, tactile forms. In nutshell, two words sum up my style: visual and tactile.
