Drew Pritchard joins the Decorative Antique Fair from Conwy in Wales, with a pleasing variety of architectural, garden, decorative & country house antiques.

The photo Drew has sent us of gives a good idea of the slightly quirky look and of the mix of stock he will bring to the event.  It shows a Swedish chair, a 19th Century terracotta mastiff, and an industrial light.

Both Yew Tree Antiques and Fontaine (as pictured) are very clever at finding unusual garden ornaments and accessories, which can be used in exterior or interior settings – though each with a different style…

1951 Design

Tim Smith-Vincent is a specialist in mid-century modern British and Scandinavian design, and a regular exhibitor at our Decorative Antique & Textiles Fairs.  Welcome back to Battersea…

Tim is bringing an exciting piece of Festival of Britain history – an original 1951 set of the chairs that were created for the outside seating spaces at the Festival site!  The design is known as ‘Antelope’, and was created by Ernest Race.   

Manufactured by Race Furniture (the company still exists), the six chairs are currently offered in white, but the plywood seats were originally either in red, blue or green, and the price of £2250 includes replacement (by Race Furniture) of the seats in any colour as required.

One of the pleasures of the “Decorative Fair” is that it extends out into the garden with statuary and decorative pieces.  Ideal for the garden and/or the conservatory.  At the previous Decorative Fairs there have been several exhibitors (out of 120 plus in total) specialising for the outdoor types.
