I recently joined the Decorative Arts Society (see their website at www.decorativeartssociety.org.uk) and wondered how many of our exhibitors are members and indeed how many of our visitors to the Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair are?

I’ve now had two of their newsletters inviting members to and reviewing visits, tours and exhibitions. It’s all rather tempting and interesting. Recently or coming up is… arts & crafts in Wimbledon (gone) or in North London (coming up), The V&A picnic, The Gordon Russell Museum in the Cotswolds, South African pottery glazes, the Palace of Westminster and a study trip to NY to name but a few appetizers.

If only one had the time… having said that I must and I will find the time for at least one visit/trip before the year is out.

Meanwhile who else has been on such an outing with the Society? Would I feel a fool because they were all so all terribly learnèd?
