Try London Battersea’s Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair: An Antiques Fair With A Bent Towards Interior Design and An Informal Atmosphere…
As the team put together the last details of the the winter decorative antiques fair, discussion at the offices is all about how the fair continues to be such a success. Amongst the flurry there was plenty of activity but not so much modesty!

First of all it was decided that the DATF is fairly unique amongst antique fairs in it’s interior design/decorative angle. Of course there is a lot of antique furniture to be admired and bought when it takes your fancy but it’s the fact that it’s not just the “brown stuff” on show that gives it the edge for those with an interesting decorative brief to fulfil.
And the antiques and textiles (and jewellery and a few extra surprises) are interesting and decorative. Come to the fair and you’ll find those interesting and often quirky pieces that some people have the knack of finding… After all, surely it’s your turn.
Secondly, it’s the informality of the fair that attracts the social beast in the buyer,
dealer, collector and designer. As well as the coffee bar there’s the full brasserie and licensed bistro set up in the lobby – a little bit of The King’s Road transported to Battersea Park’s marquee by Megan. Apart from the initial too-busy-buzz at opening day, there’s a lot of chatting, catching up and tales told in the aisles and in the bars & brasserie as well as on the exhibitors’ stands.
