Antique furniture is a proven asset at a good price and this accounts firm is currently telling it’s clients to buy now while the market favours the buyer, says the Antiques Trade Gazette.

Using stats from the Antique Collectors Club, it summarises the thinking as follows: [1] Antiques would be a safer part of a broader portfolio, especially while cash produces poor returns, [2] it’s a good hedge against inflation and [3] it’s just plain better quality than new furniture.

Also, the ACC says, that the cost of new furniture is raising quite rapidly so the price of a good piece of antique furnituure is ever better value comparitively.
